Progress

My first quilt square ever. I was so excited.

My first quilt top ever. I was super-duper excited. Ellerie inspected my work and she seemed pleased.

I emailed my (amazing quilter) friend Dana I was so excited. I told her I FINALLY pieced one. I bought the fabric, what, a year and a half ago? And, perhaps, I was distracted by this little happy cutie while I was taking the pictures....

...but I failed to notice that an entire section had been pieced upside-down!!! (note the strips of same size/same shapes lining up, rather than alternating).

I do realize that on one hand it isn't a big deal, but it would have drove me NUTS, so I fixed it and now?

Super excited again!
1 top down, 2 to go...

Thank you for the picture with the arrows, because I was all "HUH?!" I am not that into quilts, but that is really cute. Your little model helps also.

It's Gorgeous! You did a great job and I couldn't find the error until I saw the arrows. Now don't procrastinate like me and not do the quilting for, um, 12 years so far.

that is so lovely, didn't even notice a mistake and would have been searching hours for one if you hadn't marked it out for us. I know what you mean though, things like that drive me crazy if I don't fix them too.

Looks great. The perfectionist in me would have ripped it out and fixed it also, otherwise it would have sat on my sewing table for another 2 years before I touched it again!

I didn't see it until the arrows...but if I knew it was there I'd have to fix it too! Very cute, and the fun part is the quilting! Will you do it by hand?
There is something dumb about this computer that has not been allowing me to comment, but I am reading and I love how you share! You make me laugh!

It looks great! I didn't notice the mistake but like you I would have changed it once I did (hopefully before it was quilted and finished!). Quilts are so satisfying to make and to use! You daughter will be thrilled.

I don't think I would EVER have noticed that. It is turning out great. I love the cheerful colors and patterns you are using.

I would have fixed it, too, which proves we are both crazy. ;-) Congratulations! It's beautiful. I still have a pile of pieces in my closet. If you want to kick my ass a little, I could use it.

You see this is why I do not sew and almost got kicked out of needlework at school when my simple four panel knee length skirt ended up so crooked it got chopped to mini skirt proportions. Despite your diagram I still have no clue as to why the original version was not right, and all I can say is that it looks lovely to me :-) But I would rather spend a day in the dentist's chair than attempt to make one myself....
