MOANday

I'm going on my fifth day here alone with three sick and recovering sick children. My weekend completely alone didn't happen, since we didn't want to send the nasty sickness to the Grands and Great-Grand. So my accomplishment goals just had to be shifted. Instead of having a girls' night, I fought with Tate over nasty antibiotics for his ear infections. Not a pretty picture I tell you. Bad little boy moment, bad Mama moment. Instead of working whenever I wanted, I painted and planned and knitted after the kids went to bed. Instead of cutting quilt pieces, I cut hair.

And now it's Monday.

Calvin's sleep is ridiculously messed up from the time change. Yeah, it's my 7 year old that can't sleep, not the baby. I've been informed this morning by the dentist that Ellerie's bite is even more messed up than it was 6 months ago and and I really DO need to ditch the pacifier. Which I knew, but have been putting off because I know it will be hard. I did get some things done, but instead of feeling energized and motivated by it, I feel sort of defeated by all that is on my to-do list. Oh, the cold and gloomy day isn't helping. I keep telling myself that Mike will be home in a couple of hours and then all will be right with the world.

Except that darn paci.

How do you use the pacifier? There are a few ways to wean them.....that keeps the trauma down!
Sorry about your weekend. The curls though....to die for! I love that little face!

And my neck scarf is officially the most favorite item of clothing that I own! thank you again :-)

My goodness your life is so much like mine at the moment, my little one was really ill, now the other two are not so good and the little ones sleep is all messed up now because of it. I remember the fights to get really nasty tasting antibiotics into my little one - so nasty :-( I have also just removed my little ones dummy/pacifier - I ranted about it on my blog a week or so ago. It took 3 days of hard work but we got there.

Well done, you can do it! Remember you are being a good Mummy although that is very hard to keep in mind when you are having to do these hard things.

Oh, man--that just sucks. If you feel the need to, you know, leave town in a desperate huff, there's always room for you here in P-town. ;-)

I am trying to feel sorry for you, but THOSE curls. Oh. My. I want them. But back to you and your unfortunate situation. Yuck is all I have to say. Here's wishing you a good, less sicko week!

ps. We mailed our "boppies" to newborn babies on both of my daughter's second birthdays. I'm not sure how I got so lucky, but it went of without a hitch!

sleep is screwy here, too. ditto the big kid. and we dumped (i meant the binky fairy claimed) the binky when lala was 3.5 and it was miserable. naps disappeared and to this day, i still regret our timing (too soon following finnian's birth).
BUT, i have friends for whom it was seriously no problem!
dang she has gorgeous hair and you did an awesome job!
