For anyone who has been following the Consumer Products Safety Commission's decision regarding toxin testing in handmade children's items, you may want to check this out.  Looks like someone has been listening.

I wanted to write more about this post but my kiddos needed me. I hope that this is a step in the right direction.

Make sure you read the Stay yourself and read the fine print. The stay only stops the department from having to ENFORCE it. It doesn't stop the implementation of it. Business is still expected to comply! States Attorney Generals can still enforce it if they choose to do so. The stay has only given the commission time for themselves to answer and address some of the concerns however they are still expecting everyone to do as it was written and comply. You can read my blog posts here www.Top100BabyGifts.com or search the internet yourself. But don't think everyone is off the hook. Over the next year they plan on "helping" you comply which basically means they are not changing the law or offering any exemptions. Honda wrote a letter to their dealers this week advising them to remove all ATV's and minibikes, motorcycles for kids 12 and under from their showroom floors, not to sell and to remove those items from dealer websites. Obvisouly they cannot test all that inventory either. You may find commissioner Moore's letter interesting: http://reformcpsia.org/wp-content/uploads/2009/02/thomasmoore2-3-09.pdf
