Buzzing Bonnet

Sometimes I get a little "possessed" by an idea and I can't stop thinking about it until I make an attempt. It's like an itch that needs scratching. Like the proverbial bee buzzing in my bonnet.

Tomorrow night my kids have a school sock hop. I am determined that my boys shall have one of these by then:

I am also determined not to spend any money, but I am unable to focus on all the other stuff that I SHOULD be doing because I am convinced I must do. this. one. thing. Why? Did my children ask me? No. Can they go to the sock hop without a "costume?" Absolutely. Is this distraction from my day entirely my doing? Yup.

Darn, bees.

I have no idea what a sock hop is. I do wish that I could post you in time a cardigan that we have that used to belong to my husband as a child, though - it would have been perfect (even has the stripe on the sleeves)

LOL, Elissa, I understand too well, and I think you are so cute as a mom. Show your results, please!

Can't wait to see the results!

This happens to me as well. I don't know if I channel my stress/anxiety into my projects or what but it's pretty much impossible to not do that ONE thing I've got my mind on...glad I'm not the only one!

I'm with you on the costume-obsession. What did you end up doing? Funny what we choose to do in the dark, quiet hours of our homes (sew.....write......and hardly sleep).

Did you do it? I used to get those bees too but I think they decided my Littlest smells sweeter. She's always up in the middle of the night doing something creative.
