There's Always a Flip Side

On one hand, Pip and Birdie have played together all day just swimmingly. There hasn't been fighting or screaming or crying. No tantrums, no tattling, no mean words. And, you know, it's cold and rainy so we're inside today.

On the flip side, there's this.

Piles and piles of mixed up stuff ALL OVER THE PLACE. These photos were taken after cleaning up a third of the way. I started to at least clear a path to the beds for safety before it even occurred to me to document what they do for fun. Now if I could only get them to put that kind of effort into cleaning up.

Oh gosh...hmmm...I remember those days. Now the mess is dirty laundry, dried up milk glasses and smelly socks.

Good luck with the sorting and cleaning up. At least they had lots of fun, right?

Whenever I say it is time to clean up my daughter always runs off - and she rarely ever runs at any other time preferring to simply saunter, everywhere she does.

But then on her own she never would be able to make quite such a mess as you have illustrated here. That is one big mess alright.

"chop, chop, you kids! time to get busy!"
right...those aren't my kids and that isn't my house. good. breathe...

Not that this is the ideal, but remember what my mom's solution was to my lack of desire to clean? She closed my door. I'm still a slob, but nowhere as bad as I was then.

I have a love hate with all the LITTLE BITS that toys seem to come in!
You are making them help, right?

Love it, so glad it isn't just my house that is manic! I seem to spend my life moving things from one place to another and then back to its right place again - why bother ?
