I'm cheating again this week, you see. This is why I have commitment phobia, because I commit myself to something and then want to back out because I can't seem to make time. Not because I don't want to participate, but because I am not participating in the way I would like. Aside from baseball starting this last week, we also had a car window spontaneously combust (?) and with babysitting and planning for Mother's Day (poorly planning, I might add) and not feeling at all creative or even CLEAN around here, I just didn't do it. And other people are busy and make the time, but me? A cheat.
Double cheat too, as it's a photo and one that I took two years ago! Taken at the Coastal Maine Botanical Gardens (I highly recommend it if you manage to find yourself in the area), the overcast day lent itself to a great black and white shot as the sky already looked white.
I should post more pics from that visit one of these days. But not now as I need to get cracking on a couple things before I have to drive back and taxi two kiddos from preschool. Please go look at what some non-cheaters managed and I'll see you next week... maybe. ;-)

Hi Elissa,
Cheating? No! That black and white photo is great! Love the pattern popping against the sky.
And would it make you feel any better to know that while I happily draw away my house is falling apart, laundry is piling up, the fridge is getting way too empty....when you find a way to do everything that needs to be done AND have a creative life LET ME KNOW!
And thanks for stopping by my blog and leaving your kind comment!
A good photo is a good photo. it's not cheating, it's using your ingenuity :-) Hope the week gets less chaotic - how did that window spontaneously combust, that must have been very frightening.
I am having a similar week, and I also cheated. Well, I DID take the shots this week, at least. Semi-cheat? I would just like to say that Blue China Studio's comment makes ME feel better. I was just thinking today, if it wasn't for the laundry, cleaning, groceries, and making meals, I'd have plenty of time to paint. Hmmm, wait a minute. My house is a raging mess, AND I didn't paint this week?!
Oh, and I love your photo! I love to photograph trees.
you may be a cheater, but your intent is so gracious and lovely. thank you for linking with us, and making/taking the time to link up. that is so flattering to me. i really love this shot. there is something very beautiful about the silhouette of trees and limbs. this is just cool!
I think your photo is lovely..there's something about the bark on the tree that really caught my attentions...and on a totally different note your playlist is fabulous..i love almost every song on their!
Great photo. Maybe you should take part is Friday's Flower instead, must easier as you just post a photo of a flower and if you are anything like me you love taking photos so do it all the time and love flowers so enjoy taking photos of them :-)
The contrast is really nice. I like seeing your photos any time you post them. About the busyness, I can say this to you but not listen for myself; some seasons we just keep up with the main important things as best as we can and let other things go. We need to show grace to ourselves in terms of expectations. While I see some beautifully decorated perfect homes and lives out there in blog land, mine is not one of them. And I think, though these are not the things we blog about, I am not alone.
